Qozgal Help

Steps not showing up?

Don't worry! This is usually fixed in a couple of minutes. Choose your platform and follow the step-by-step guide

Allow access to Apple Health

Qozgal reads steps from Apple Health. If access is not granted, the app cannot retrieve your step data.

1
Open Settings on your iPhone
Find the Settings icon (grey gear) on your home screen and tap it.
2
Go to the "Health" section
Scroll down and find Health (icon with a white heart on a red background).
Settings → Health
3
Tap "Data Access & Devices"
Then select Qozgal from the list of apps.
Health → Data Access & Devices → Qozgal
4
Turn on "Steps" under "Read"
Make sure the Steps toggle is on (green). This allows Qozgal to read your step data.
Don't see Qozgal in the list? This means the app has never requested access. Open Qozgal — on first launch you'll see a Health access prompt. Tap "Allow All".

Check that your iPhone is counting steps

iPhone uses a built-in motion sensor to count steps. Make sure this feature is enabled.

1
Open privacy settings
Settings → Privacy → Motion & Fitness
2
Turn on "Fitness Tracking"
The Fitness Tracking toggle should be green. Also make sure Health is enabled in the same list.
3
Check steps in the Health app
Open the built-in Health app on your iPhone. Go to "Browse" → "Activity" → "Steps". If data is shown here, your iPhone is counting steps correctly.
No steps in Health? Try restarting your iPhone (turn it off and on). If after walking 100+ steps data still doesn't appear, the motion sensor may be faulty. Contact Apple Support.

Enable background app refresh

For Qozgal to receive steps in the background (when the app is closed), you need to enable background app refresh.

1
Go to Background App Refresh settings
Settings → General → Background App Refresh
2
Enable refresh for Qozgal
Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled globally and for Qozgal specifically.
Tip: Even without background refresh, steps will load when you open the app. Background refresh just allows this to happen automatically.

Re-authorize Health access

Sometimes after an iOS or app update, access can be reset. Here's how to fix it.

1
Turn off all Qozgal permissions in Health
Go to SettingsHealthData Access & DevicesQozgal. Turn off all toggles.
2
Open Qozgal
The app will request Apple Health access again. Tap "Allow All".
3
Wait 1-2 minutes
Steps should appear. Pull down on the screen to force refresh.

Sync steps manually

If steps didn't load automatically, try refreshing manually.

1
Pull down on the screen
On the Qozgal home screen, pull down (pull-to-refresh). The app will fetch fresh data from Apple Health.
2
Restart the app
Swipe Qozgal away from the recent apps list and open it again. The app always loads the latest steps on launch.
Steps don't update instantly. Apple Health may delay data updates by 10-15 minutes. If you just walked, wait a bit and refresh again.

Reinstall the app

If nothing helps, delete and reinstall Qozgal. Your account and data will be preserved.

1
Delete Qozgal
Long-press the app icon → "Remove App" → "Delete".
2
Reinstall from the App Store
Search for "Qozgal" in the App Store and install it. Sign in with Sign in with Apple — all your data will be there.
3
Allow Apple Health access
On first launch, tap "Allow All" when prompted to grant Health access.
Don't worry about deleting! All your steps, streaks, freezes, and raffle entries are tied to your account, not your device. Everything will be restored after signing in.

Install Health Connect

Qozgal on Android gets steps through Health Connect by Google. On Android 14+ it's built in; on older versions you need to install it.

1
Check if Health Connect is installed
Open SettingsApps and search for "Health Connect". If it's not there, install it.
2
Install from Google Play
Open Google Play and find Health Connect by Google (by Google LLC). Tap "Install".
3
Open Health Connect and complete setup
Accept the terms of use and allow connecting apps.
Android 14 and newer: Health Connect is already built in. Find it in SettingsHealth or use search.

Grant permissions to Qozgal

Qozgal needs permission to read steps from Health Connect.

1
Open Health Connect
Settings → Health → Health Connect
2
Go to "App permissions"
Find Qozgal in the list.
3
Allow reading steps
Make sure the permission to read Steps is enabled. If Qozgal is not in the list, open Qozgal — the app will request access automatically.
No permission prompt? Make sure Health Connect is installed and up to date. Try restarting Qozgal.

Disable battery optimization

Android may "kill" apps in the background to save battery.

1
Open battery settings for Qozgal
Settings → Apps → Qozgal → Battery
2
Select "Unrestricted"
Set the battery mode to Unrestricted.
3
Do the same for Health Connect
Repeat the steps for Health Connect — it also needs to run without restrictions.
Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO

Setup for Xiaomi

Xiaomi (MIUI/HyperOS) aggressively restricts background activity.

1
Enable autostart for Qozgal
Settings → Apps → Permissions → Autostart → Qozgal ✓
2
Enable autostart for Health Connect
Repeat the same for Health Connect.
3
Set "No restrictions" in battery saver
Settings → Apps → Qozgal → Battery Saver → No restrictions
4
Lock Qozgal in recents
Open the recent apps list, find Qozgal and tap the lock icon.
5
Disable activity control (MIUI 12+)
Settings → Battery → Activity Control → Qozgal → No restrictions
HyperOS / MIUI 14+: The path to settings may differ. Use the search in settings: "autostart" or "battery".
Samsung Galaxy

Setup for Samsung

Samsung uses Samsung Health and its own battery management system.

1
Install and set up Samsung Health
Samsung Health records steps and passes them to Health Connect. Make sure step counting is enabled.
2
Connect Samsung Health to Health Connect
Samsung Health → Settings → Health Connect. Allow step synchronization.
3
Disable "Sleeping apps"
Settings → Device Care → Battery → Background usage limits
4
Remove Qozgal from sleeping apps
Remove Qozgal and Health Connect from the "Sleeping apps" and "Deep sleeping apps" lists.
Samsung Galaxy Watch? Steps from the watch go through Samsung Health → Health Connect → Qozgal. Make sure all three are connected.
Huawei / Honor

Setup for Huawei / Honor

Huawei devices with HMS (without Google) have limitations.

1
Check if Google Play is available
If Google Play is available, follow the general Android instructions.
2
Disable battery management
Settings → Battery → App launch → Qozgal → Manage manually
3
Turn on all three toggles
Auto-launch, Run in background, Launched by other apps — for both Qozgal and Health Connect.
Huawei without Google (HMS): Health Connect cannot be installed. Qozgal won't be able to get steps. We are working on Huawei Health support.
OPPO / Realme / OnePlus

Setup for OPPO, Realme, OnePlus

ColorOS and OxygenOS also restrict background activity.

1
Disable battery optimization
Settings → Battery → Qozgal → Allow background activity
2
Enable autostart
Settings → Apps → Autostart → Enable for Qozgal
3
Lock in recents
Swipe the Qozgal card down (or tap the lock icon) to lock it.

Sync steps manually

If automatic sync isn't working, update manually.

1
Pull down on the screen
Pull-to-refresh on the Qozgal home screen.
2
Restart the app
Close Qozgal from recents and open it again.
3
Check steps in Health Connect
Health Connect → Data and access → Activity → Steps. If steps are there, the issue is in the connection. If not, your phone isn't recording steps.
Where do steps come from? Usually Google Fit or Samsung Health records and sends them to Health Connect. Make sure one of them is installed.

Reinstall the app

If nothing helps, reinstall Qozgal. Your data is tied to your Google account.

1
Delete Qozgal
Long-press the icon → "Uninstall" (or via Settings → Apps).
2
Install from Google Play
Search for "Qozgal" and install. Sign in with your Google account.
3
Grant Health Connect permissions
Tap "Allow" when prompted for access.
Don't worry about deleting! All data is tied to your account. Everything will be restored after signing in.
