Rules of the feed and the chats

The feed and the chats of Qozgal exist for one thing: sharing walks, routes and streaks, and cheering each other on. Whatever gets in the way of that we remove, and those who do it on purpose we restrict

1. What is worth writing about

• walks, runs, routes and places that are nice to walk in
• your progress: the streak, the first 10,000 steps, coming back after a break
• photos from a walk, of a view, the weather, shoes, a park
• clan meetups and invitations to join
• questions and advice for newcomers

2. What is not allowed

A post or a message is removed and the account gets a sanction if the text, the photo or the replies contain:

Speech and behaviour

• swearing and obscene language, including words masked with symbols and typos
• insults, humiliation, mockery of looks, weight, age or physical shape
• bullying of a specific person, harassment, calls to pile on somebody
• incitement of hatred by nationality, language, religion, sex, orientation or disability
• threats of violence, calls to violence, justification of violence
• calls to self-harm, promotion of starvation and dangerous weight-loss practices

Content

• nudity, explicit and sexualised content
• scenes of cruelty, blood, injuries, death of people and animals
• drugs, psychoactive substances, advertising of alcohol and tobacco
• weapons, explosives and instructions for making them
• any sexual or exploitative content involving minors; such accounts are blocked for good and handed over to law enforcement

Spam and deceit

• advertising of goods and services, affiliate links, invitations to third-party projects and channels
• pyramid schemes, betting, casinos, get-rich-quick schemes, crypto scams
• mass identical posts and messages, faked likes and replies, bots
• links to malicious sites, phishing
• impersonating another person, a brand or a Qozgal employee
• faking steps: shaking the phone, attaching it to an animal or a machine, forging HealthKit and Health Connect data

Other people's data and authorship

• other people's personal data: address, phone, documents, correspondence, the exact location of another person
• photos of other people taken without their consent, especially of children
• other people's photos and texts passed off as your own

3. Chats

Qozgal has three kinds of chats: one general chat for everyone, the chat of your city (the city in your profile) and the chat of your clan. Chats are text only, up to 500 characters, with a quoted reply: no photos, no likes, no notifications. Everything in section 2 applies in the chats too, and also:

• no links in the general chat and the city chat: site addresses, t.me, wa.me and words that look like a domain are not sent. Links are allowed in a clan chat, where people know each other and plan walks
• do not write more often than once every three seconds or more than 12 messages a minute: the chat will not accept the rest
• do not ask people to move to other messengers for selling, recruiting or "easy money"
• do not post a phone number, an address or other personal data in a chat, yours or anybody else's

Reports

Long-press a message and choose "Report", then pick a reason: spam or ads, insult, swearing, off topic or other. If three different people report a message, it is hidden at once, automatically (reports from accounts younger than a day do not count towards that). Every report reaches the moderators, and the person who reported stays anonymous

Hiding a person

Open the person's profile, tap "···" and choose "Hide posts and messages". You will no longer see their messages in the chats or their posts in the feed, on any of your devices. The list of hidden people is in the profile settings, and a person can be brought back from there

Deletion and mute

Your own message you can delete yourself. A moderator deletes messages and posts that break the rules and can mute an account: for 7 days, for 30 days or permanently. A muted account cannot write in chats, post, reply or like, while steps and the streak keep counting as usual

4. What happens for a violation

We look at how serious the violation is and whether it repeats. The usual ladder looks like this:

For serious violations we restrict the account at once, without warnings. This applies to child exploitation, threats, bullying, faked steps and fraud

5. Moderation

Part of the checks is automatic: links in the shared chats and too frequent messages are cut off on sending, three reports hide a message. The rest is handled by people based on reports

We may delete any post or message and restrict an account if the content breaks these rules, the Terms of Use or the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, even if the particular case is not described above

6. How to report

A post or a reply: tap the three dots in the top right corner and choose "Report". A message in a chat: long-press it. A person: open the profile, tap "···" and choose "Report the person". Reports are reviewed within 24 hours

If it is urgent and concerns a threat to life or a child's safety, write straight to support@qozgal.app marked "URGENT"

7. If you disagree with a decision

Write to support@qozgal.app with your nickname and a link to the post or a description of the message. We will review the decision and answer within 5 working days. If the moderator was wrong, the post and the access come back

8. Age

You can post and write in chats from the age of 16, the same as using the app. Details are in the Terms of Use

9. Changes to the rules

The rules will change together with the feed and the chats. We will announce significant changes in the app. The date of the last update is at the top of the page
